I started learning poker to challenge my mind and practice skills I also value in investing: thinking in probabilities, weighing risk, and making decisions with incomplete information.

As an amateur player, I wanted to understand the mathematics behind my choices rather than judge them only by whether I won or lost. I built Poker Math Coach first for my own learning, to explore the numbers, test my understanding, and practice consistently.

My professional background shaped how I built it. Throughout my career in multinational companies, I’ve worked with data to support better decisions. Today, I lead data engineering and data science teams. I brought that same approach to this application: transparent calculations, clear explanations, and interactive tools that let me test ideas for myself.

Now I’m sharing it with other players who want to understand the reasoning behind their decisions. Poker Math Coach connects lessons, practical exercises, and hand analysis to help you study, recognize mistakes, and apply what you learn at the table.

Built from a personal desire to learn, with mathematics at its core.

Books that shaped my learning

The Mathematics of Poker by Bill Chen and Jerrod Ankenman, and Modern Poker Theory by Michael Acevedo helped shape my understanding of the game and inspired this application.

The explanations and examples are my own. Poker Math Coach is not affiliated with or endorsed by the authors or their publishers.
